QUESTIONS?
Q: What makes your clinic different?
AUNTIE:
Mino Pimatisiwin means 'the good life.' We believe all people deserve access to culturally safe health care so they can live a good life.
Q: What types of testing is available at the clinic?
AUNTIE:
First, we’ll ask about any specific symptoms or concerns that brought you to the clinic. Next, we’ll decide where we go from there with you. Testing is typically available for HIV, Hep B and C, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis. We also have pregnancy tests.
Q: Do you provide traditional medicines?
AUNTIE:
We have traditional medicines available, and our [Knowledge Keepers, Elders, grandmothers and aunties… ] are there to provide guidance in traditional healing.
Q: What happens when someone comes to the clinic for the first time?
AUNTIE:
That’s totally up to you! We’ll talk about why you stopped by and take things one step at a time.
Q: Should I bring my partner?
AUNTIE:
We’d love to meet them, too. Make it a date!
